Matcha, Motorways & a Rolex Explorer II: Fifty20 Hits Ipswich

Last Thursday, our dynamic duo, Sophie and Charlie, swapped their desks for the driver’s seat and set off on another noble mission — to deliver a Rolex Explorer II to its brand-new owner and ultimate competition champ: Rob.

Road Trip Vibes Only

It was an early start (7 a.m. sharp!), but spirits were high and caffeine levels were… rising. Sophie very kindly offered to take the wheel — much to Charlie’s delight, who settled into her role as DJ, snack supplier, and chief navigator for the four-hour journey down south.

With playlists on shuffle, plenty of chat, and just one essential pit stop for a cheeky matcha at Starbucks, the girls cruised into Ipswich at around 11:20 a.m. — right on time, right on vibe.

The Man of the Hour: Rob

Waiting to greet them was the star of the show himself, Rob — our Rolex Explorer II giveaway winner and, quite possibly, the most welcoming man in Suffolk. He invited Sophie and Charlie in for a drink (five stars for hospitality, Rob), and the trio quickly hit it off.

After a good laugh and some all-important Rolex glamour shots, they chatted about all things Fifty20 — from how it all began to what’s coming next. It’s always such a joy to meet our winners in person and share our story with people who get just as excited about the journey as we do.

Pizza, Doughballs & the Drive North

With their mission complete and another very happy winner made, it was time to refuel — and where better than Pizza Express? Because nothing says “job well done” like a plate of doughballs and a side of garlic butter.

Bellies full and hearts happy, the girls hit the road once more, heading back up north to cold and rainy York (because, of course, it was). The journey home was full of tired smiles, good tunes, and the warm fuzzy feeling that only comes from seeing someone’s face light up over a brand-new Rolex.

Why We Do It

Days like this are what it’s all about — meeting amazing people like Rob, sharing in their excitement, and seeing firsthand what these prizes mean to our community. It really does remind us why we started Fifty20 in the first place.
