A Quick History of Apple – From the Mac to the iPhone 16
Apple Inc. was founded in 1976 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne, with a mission to bring personal microcomputers into classrooms, businesses, and eventually homes. What started as a garage project turned into one of the world’s most iconic tech brands.
In 1984, Apple introduced the Macintosh, now known simply as “The Mac” — one of the first computers to feature a graphical user interface and a mouse, making computing far more accessible to the everyday user.
But internal disagreements led to the departure of both Jobs and Wozniak in 1985, and Apple soon began to struggle against Microsoft Windows, which dominated the personal computer market in the 1990s.
By 1997, Apple was just weeks from bankruptcy. In a bold move, the company brought Steve Jobs back. The result? A complete transformation. Jobs led the creation of a product lineup that changed tech forever: the iMac, iPod, iPhone, and iPad. Combined with the iconic "Think Different" campaign, Apple became a brand that stood for innovation, creativity, and cool.

Apple & Fifty20: Giving You the Chance to Win Big
At Fifty20, we know Apple is the brand that almost everyone wants in their life — even if they won’t queue outside an Apple Store to get it (we see you). That’s why we’re regularly giving away Apple prizes, from the latest iPads, Apple Watches, and AirPods to whatever the team in Cupertino dreams up next.
Let’s talk iPhone. When the original iPhone launched in 2007, most of us were still glued to our iPods for music and BlackBerry phones for messaging. Like many, I was sceptical — no keypad? Just a screen? Surely a fad.
Fast-forward to today: BlackBerry is gone, and Apple has sold over 2.3 billion iPhones worldwide. I’ve been an Apple convert since the iPhone 4, and now… well, I’m typing this on my iPhone 16. That’s the thing about the Apple ecosystem — once you’re in, it’s hard to leave.
