A Rolex, Ram’s Nap & a Tube Map: Fifty20 Hits London

Last Thursday, our very own dynamic duo, Sophie and Ram, traded in their office chairs for train seats as they set off on a noble mission: to deliver a Rolex Explorer to its rightful owner — the legend himself, Aled, our most enthusiastic giveaway winner.

They boarded the train on a brisk Thursday morning, fuelled by excitement, caffeine, and perhaps a little fear of London’s public transport system. Destination: the Big Smoke.

Meet-Up at the Capital’s Finest Institution: Starbucks

Upon arrival, the pair navigated their way to Aled’s local Starbucks — because nothing says "momentous occasion" like a caramel macchiato and a luxury watch.

As soon as Aled laid eyes on his Rolex, his face lit up like Oxford Street at Christmas. Watching his reaction made all the hard work, late nights, and spreadsheet-induced headaches back at the office completely worth it. Sophie and Ram were beaming — although it’s hard to say if it was due to joy or just the third espresso kicking in.

We love winners like Aled: full of enthusiasm, gratitude, and just the right level of “Wait, I actually won?!” energy. His excitement was infectious (in a good way, not in a flu-season kind of way).

Lights, Camera, Rolex

Naturally, no Fifty20 handover is complete without some behind-the-scenes content. Sophie and Ram sat down with Aled for a quick-fire Q&A, filming all the wholesome goodness for your viewing pleasure. So, keep an eye on our socials — you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll probably want a Rolex.

Lost on the Underground and Found at M&M World

With the watch successfully delivered and the content secured, our heroes still had time to kill before heading back up north. But first — the London Underground.

Ah yes, the Tube. Where maps are decorative, announcements are inaudible, and it’s perfectly acceptable to stand uncomfortably close to a stranger while pretending they don’t exist.

After a few wrong turns (and one near existential crisis at Oxford Circus), they resurfaced at the very pinnacle of British culture: M&M World. Because if you don’t leave London with a bag of overpriced chocolate, did you even go?

Fish, Chips & Forty Winks

Ram was feeling particularly patriotic, so obviously he ordered the most British thing on the menu at the restaurant they stopped in: fish and chips. Somewhere, the Queen nodded in approval (probably).

With bellies full and mission accomplished, they headed back to King’s Cross, ready for the journey home. Ram, clearly overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of the capital, promptly fell asleep on the train — like, out cold. Sophie, meanwhile, enjoyed a rare moment of peace and quiet. No train chat. No Tube confusion. Just vibes.

Capital Gains

All in all, it was a super successful trip. A watch was delivered, content was captured, M&Ms were eaten, and Ram got his nap. Aled was thrilled, and so were we.

Sometimes, a little midweek escape from the office is all you need to recharge the batteries — especially when there’s a Rolex involved.

Until next time, London. Mind the gap.
