Boot Packed, Prizes Prepped: Our First Day on the Streets!

We kicked things off by cramming the car boot full of prizes. Spirits were high. Nerves were higher. None of us had done anything like this before, and we were terrified people would think we were trying to sign them up to a dodgy pyramid scheme.

Clifford’s Tower: A Rocky Start

First stop: Clifford’s Tower.

We approached a few tourists with our best smiles and a simple question: “Fancy winning a Dyson hairdryer?”

Every single one looked at us like we’d offered them a used tissue. We were a bit bruised (ego-wise), but we cracked on.

Fenwick Square: First Win, First Smile

Next up: Fenwick Square.

This is where things turned around. People were curious, friendly and ready to win. We had loads of interest and even more enthusiasm. And just like that, we got our first winner.

She was a young lady who won our slogan challenge. Honestly, I hope we made her day - because she definitely made ours. She was the first person to stop and give us a chance, and that meant a lot to us.

Winning the Dyson hairdryer, her hair is now destined to be soft and shiny forevermore! May she always think of Fifty20 when she’s drying it.

Winner Number Two: AirPods for a Star Dad

A lovely family took on the challenge of naming five German car brands. Dad absolutely smashed it, and they walked away with the latest-generation AirPods, much to the kids’ delight!

The look on their faces was priceless. Big cheer for dad. Instant hero status unlocked.

The only issue now? Deciding which of the two kids got to claim the AirPods. We’re guessing it’ll come down to whoever’s birthday is first, or maybe best out of three in rock-paper-scissors!

The Stopwatch Challenge: 5 Seconds of Glory

Then came the stopwatch challenge.

We moved to another square and invited passers-by to try stopping our timer at exactly 5 seconds.

Sounds easy, right? Well… we asked hundreds of people to give it a go, and not a single one could get 5 seconds.

Then, a tiny little girl with precision that put the grown-ups to shame, stepped up and nailed it.

Exactly 5.00 seconds.

We all lost our minds. Screaming and cheering. She had no idea what she’d won, and couldn’t keep the prize herself — but her dad was well chuffed. That moment alone made everything worth it.

Kids are brilliant like that, no overthinking, just do. And sometimes, doing wins you prizes. Especially if you happened to be in York last Friday!

Raceday Ready: Pocket-Sized Prize, Big Surprise

We were just about to move on when we clocked a seriously well-dressed group heading out for a day at the races. One gent stepped forward with a smile and said, “Go on then, I’ll give it a shot.”

Boom. He nailed every answer.

He was stunned. One minute he’s off for a day of betting on the horses, the next he’s walking away with a top-tier prize. What are the odds?

Our only concern? Whether the prize would survive the day tucked into his tiny suit pocket, through race-day drinks, dinner (likely a kebab), and whatever York nightlife had in store later.

We’d love to know how that story ended. If you're reading this, race day legend — give us an update!

The Moonswatch: Music Knowledge Wins Again

Next up was our Moonswatch giveaway — and it found its new home with a lovely lady who was lightning fast when it came to naming music artists. Clearly a UK Top 40 expert.

We couldn’t help but wonder… Will that Moonswatch be wrapped up for a lucky family member’s birthday? Will she keep it for herself as a well-earned treat? Or will it end up making a surprise appearance on Vinted?

Whatever the case, it went to a worthy winner, and we were really happy to hand it over to someone so enthusiastic and lovely!

Pizza, Aperols & Polaroid Wins

Refuel time!

We stopped off at Pizza Express for a much-needed lunch! The team treated themselves to a well-earned Aperol. Spirits were high (literally), and after a quick reset, we were straight back to it: spreading joy and building up our winners wall.

Holly was the lucky winner of our Polaroid, and what a win it was! She absolutely flew through our music challenge, naming all five artists in under 10 seconds. We hope you love your Polaroid, Holly, and that it captures many happy memories for years to come.

Drone Delivery for Megan the Gaga Queen

As we made our way through The Shambles, we came across a few couples who were very keen to take on our drone challenge. One of them, Megan — had us in stitches with her answers. They weren’t quite right, but the delivery was top-tier, so we gave her another shot.

Good thing we did — she only went and guessed who Stefani Germanotta really is (Lady Gaga, if you're wondering). Which led to the handover of a very shiny new drone.

We’ve got no doubt that the drone saw some serious air time once they got home.

Final Prize: Elvis, a Speaker & a Legend Called Phil

And last but by no means least, we handed out our final prize, a Bose speaker — to Phil, who was the only person all day who knew the exact date Elvis passed away. Seriously… the exact date. We were half-expecting him to know the time and day of the week too!

Sorry if that gave away your age, Phil, but honestly, we were so impressed. Our reaction said it all (and probably made a bit of a scene).

We hope your Friday afternoon pick-me-up hit the spot, and that you’re now blasting your favourite Elvis tune on that speaker with pride.

A Big Thank You, and an Even Bigger Beginning

We’re so grateful to every single one of you who gave it a go and took a chance on us. Whether you won a prize or just stopped to chat, you made our day, and we loved every second of the journey, handing out gifts and sharing smiles across York.

This is just the beginning. We can’t wait to keep growing this community with you, and to begin doing our raffles for real.

As we always say, we’re not just here to make someone’s day. We’re here to change lives.

Maybe we did make eight people’s day (and, fair play, maybe mildly ruined it for a few who didn’t win — sorry). But we hope every single winner felt that rush of joy, a bit of belief, and maybe a nudge to trust the moment and get involved.

Whether it’s a shiny new prize, a shared laugh on the street, or just the feeling that something exciting could happen, we hope our little pop-up in York left a mark.

To stay up to date with our prizes and launch, make sure to follow us on social media. You never know when we’ll pop up in your town — or be raffling off something you’ve had your eye on!

We’ve got huge rewards lined up for our first players as a thank you, so don’t miss out.

See you again soon — and good luck!
